The engine of Itala has had many operations by Gianni Torelli. Rectification of all the rotating parts, rebuilding of the benck bearings, rectification of the pipes of the cylinders, restoring of the pistons, bore of the eyes and feeth of the connecting rods. The big wood wheels, one of which was damnaged in 1907 and manifactured again thank to a fast hatchet-work by a Siberian "mugik" after a fall of Itala from a bridge, are also restored by "Il restauro" that worked for this recalling for Fiat and together with other specialized factories of the Group of Turin.



In 1907 Itala, drived by Scipione Borghese, with the mechanic Ettore Guizzardi and the reporter of Corriere della sera Luigi Barzini, winned the adventurous raid Peking-Parigi. 82 years later the same car, perfectly restored by a pool of factories among which "Il Restauro" (after having been for some decenniums in the Museum of the cars of Turin) has runned again the same way.

The 22.000 Km way started from China to get to Paris after having crossed Pakistan,Iran,Turkey, URSS, Poland, East and West Germany,Holland, Belgium and France.

At the raid of 1907 entered twentytwo crews but the 10th of June at the start from Peking were present just 5 cars (Itala, three Franch ones: two De Dion&Bouton and a tricicle Contal , the dutch Spyker). Itala arrived at Paris on 10 August, after 44 days of travel during which faced every kind of problems. Twenty days later arrived the two De Dion, the others retired themselves.
